Preferred names on Invoices & FamilyBoost Quarterly Statements
We’ve received a query from one of our centres, regarding the use of a child’s preferred name (rather than their legal/actual first name) on the invoices and quarterly statements submitted for the FamilyBoost rebate.
To confirm this, we communicated with the IRD team, and have received the following confirmation:
“If a child’s preferred name is used on an invoice or quarterly statement, the customer can ask Inland Revenue to add an ‘also known as’ name so the child can be matched easily when they submit their claim.”
This means that:
-
ECE centres can use a child’s preferred name on the invoice or quarterly statement, as long as
-
The family contacts the IRD team and ask them to add the child’s preferred name as an “also known as” name on their IRD record.
This helps ensure that the family’s FamilyBoost claim can be processed successfully.
